The key to having an effective self-defense strategy lies in
regular application of your techniques against resisting partners.

Many martial arts offer techniques that students practice without a training partner, or against a punching bag, or dummy. This is partially because many striking techniques are too dangerous to practice on a training partner. The beauty of Jiu Jitsu is that it supplies powerful attacks and techniques that are also controlled enough to be safely practiced on a partner.

Known as “The Gentle Art” Jiu Jitsu offers it’s practitioners a way to end a confrontation, and subdue an attacker without having to rely solely on devastating strikes. Instead Jiu Jitsu practitioners learn how to flow around an attack, escape bad positions, gain/maintain a dominant position, and apply chokes, and joint locks capable of completely incapacitating an attacker.
