Royler Gracie is a legendary Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) practitioner and mixed martial artist, known for both his competitive success and his role in spreading Gracie Jiu-Jitsu around the world. He was born on December 6, 1965, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is a prominent member of the famous Gracie family, which played a foundational role in the development and popularization of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Family Lineage: Royler is the son of Hélio Gracie, one of the original founders of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and brother to other notable Gracies like Rickson, Rorion, and Royce Gracie.
BJJ Career:
Royler is a 7th-degree red-and-black coral belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
He was a multiple-time IBJJF World Champion and is one of the few Gracies who consistently competed at the highest levels of sport BJJ.
He is a four-time World Champion in the featherweight division and also won three ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) Submission Wrestling World Championships, making him one of the few Gracies to have proven himself in both gi and no-gi competition at the highest level.
MMA Career:
Royler fought in PRIDE Fighting Championships and other MMA promotions, though with a more modest record compared to his jiu-jitsu career.
His most well-known MMA fight was against Kazushi Sakuraba in 2000, which he lost via referee stoppage. Sakuraba became known as the “Gracie Hunter” for defeating several members of the family.
